Ivy League Baseball Club is the only 5-level indoor/outdoor rooftop facility located in the outfield of Wrigley. This facility was built in 2010 and has over 12,000 square feet of space. Located in the center of right field, this facility provides a great view of Wrigley. This rooftop features 3 separate indoor lounges, allowing smaller corporate and individual groups to have a private space without having to rent the entire facility. Each of these lounges offers high tech audio and visual equipment for company presentation and corporate meetings.

I attended a game at this venue recently and had a terrible experience. Where to start... first the game was delayed because of rain. The delay lasted a few hours at which time the venue stopped serving any sort of alcohol. I cannot find anywhere on their site nor on the Groupon that say that they will cut off the services that their customers paid for due to delays in the game, but that is what happened. Could you get a beer that was supposedly included in your ticket price? No. Could you purchase a beer for an extra fee? No. They simply cut off sales. Clearly their profit margin was more important to them than creating a good customer experience. Additionally, you are only allowed to get one drink per person. This means that if you are seated... your entire party must get up to serve themselves. I consider this to be pretty ridiculous... while certainly ordering 12 drinks would be out of the question, two for yourself and guest isn't unreasonable.

And finally... the most ridiculous of the policies... there is a STRICT no seat saving policy at the venue. Get up to use the bathroom? The security will escort patrons to your vacant seat, despite the fact that friends or loved ones may be saving them for you. I was witness to just such an event. An individual in front of me was saving a seat for his wife who had gone to the bathroom. Security came and attempted to give his wife's seat away to another customer... after much back and forth, it was clear that the individual no longer wanted to take anyone's seat. Security was insistent with the gentleman that he could not save her seat. I stepped over the row of seats and sat in the woman's seat and told the gentleman I would move upon her return. I was ejected from the venue for stepping over the seat... apparently against the rules. Clearly employees and management here is more concerned with enforcing silly policies and their bottom line than they are about making their customers happy.

I left and wrote a letter to the management of the rooftop. I never heard back. They clearly have no desire to have any level of customer service whatsoever. Luckily I bought my ticket through groupon, who, upon review of my situation fully refunded my costs.

I have been to many a rooftop along both Sheffield and Waveland. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had. You have a choice... so somewhere else.
